Our heartfelt thanks to the organisers ''We Love Northcote Road' and to the many wonderful people who made this event such a huge success.

Organisers of the Northcote Carnival, wanted to support a family and charity close to their hearts. Anne Lennox , co-founding trustee, and her son, Tom, spent his short life within the wonderful Northcote Road community; this was often as far as Tom could travel given his condition. Tom was known to many shopkeepers and local residents who were touched by his charm and personality. The first Northcote Carnival, a celebration of the community, held on 16th July, started off with a colourful parade. Primary school children from Honeywell School , Belleville School and Dolphin school, all in themed costumes, took to the streets. So too did members of the emergency services in various vehicles of all ages, a band and an array of helpers and teachers. Local shops and businesses had stalls outside their premises offering raffles, face painting, Pimms, strawberries and cream and much more. With live music and performances all day, there was a really good carnival atmosphere and £3,000 was raised for Myotubular Trust in memory of Tom.
