Our thanks and congratulations go to two young brothers, Michael and Andrew Oliver, who ran in this years’ Great North Run and raised a fantastic £45 each.

Michael and Andrew chose to run in support of the Myotubular Trust in memory of their younger cousin, Daniel.

Michael (11) ran 2 miles in just 18.04 minutes and finished in 94 th position. Andrew (8) took part in the mini run; a 1 mile route which he completed in about 8 minutes. The boys only decided to take part 8 days before the race and did amazingly well; it was the first time that either of them had run in an event like this and they had only had time for one practise run.

Michael and Andrew are planning on running again next year as they had great fun and saw lots of famous soap stars and athletes. Their mum, Jill, is going to take part in the Great North Run.
