| School Choir Sing For Zak | |
|
The Stanborough Chorus organized this year's annual Festival of Choral Music in Kingsbridge Devon, from 15th to 18th October at St Edmunds Church. The first of this popular four-day event normally features choral music arranged by Kingsbridge Community College School Choir. This year, the school choir chose to sing to support Myotubular Trust because a fellow pupil, Zak, has the condition. It was a beautifully coordinated evening with some really talented individuals and groups of pupils singing a range of upbeat and lively harmonies and solos! The music was introduced by a very witty choir member who kept the audience very well entertained in between the choral arrangements, and the whole programme was orchestrated and arranged by Miss Sharon Mitchell, Head of Music at the School. The evening included a raffle with some great prizes and some lovely refreshments organised by the Church. The guests paid ticket prices of £8 per head, with all proceeds going to the charity. Caryn, Catherine and Ali Moore kindly produced a range of home-made chutneys, fudge and myotubular bead and ribbon brooches to sell to guests and choir members, to help boost the funds. Wendy at Myotubular Trust would like to extend a warm thanks to everyone involved in the evening: Brian Nice, Pat Janes, May Crimp and members of the Stanborough Chorus; St Edmund's Church for hosting the event; the Head of Music and the Kingsbridge Community School Choir for taking the Myotubular Trust to their hearts and providing such wonderful entertainment. A big thanks too, to Caryn, Catherine and Ali Moore and Sophie for their fantastic help both before and on the night, and not forgetting all the guests and audience for their kind generosity.
