After four years of trying for a baby, our second attempt at IVF was successful. We were overjoyed to find out it was twins and were on cloud nine when we found out we were having a boy and a girl. After a problematic pregnancy, at 32 weeks, baby Isla called time and Will and Isla were born on 5th March 2009 . Isla was born little but well but ‘Wee’ Will raised many concerns. He was born malnourished at 1 kilogram and very floppy. After a painful period of uncertainty he was diagnosed with x-linked myotubular myopathy. Now, seven months old, his future is still uncertain but he has already overcome many obstacles and life threatening challenges. Will is still here and fighting today through the perseverance and dedication of those who work for the NHS. As Will’s mum and dad, we are still here and fighting for Will. Thanks to the Myotubular Trust for giving us back our hope. Claudia and Duncan |
